“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” —Thomas Edison. When a reporter asked Mr. Edison what it felt like to fail 1,000 times before successfully inventing the light bulb prototype, Edison replied, “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention of 1,000 steps.” When you figure out the game, move onto something more challenging or master it. If the internet was invented by Al Gore can someone tell me who invented Algorithms?

“We especially need imagination in science. It is not all mathematics, nor all logic, but it is somewhat beauty and poetry.” —Maria Mitchell.

The red planet will have more visitors in March than most of us will have in our own homes. When the month of March begins, 3 different orbiters from 3 different missions will be at the gate of the Red Planet. Expect to get plenty of NASA updates from the rock hunting rover ‘Perseverance,’ the ambitious Chinese-led ‘Tianwen-1’ orbiter/ lander/rover combo & the United Arab Emirates orbiter ‘Hope’ all month long.

I hope the people of Earth can one day sell the naming rights to the heavenly bodies. Why not name the Moon Emeril’s Air Fryer for a few years? The word Tohubohu is derived from Hebrew & means a state of chaos. The madness quotient this month would be reduced somewhat if the annual college hoops tourney was called “March Tohubohu.”

If you have sore feet, my Dr. recommends tic-tac. It’s good for the toe.

What did the rope tell the health nut? I am a frayed knot - Gastro-naut.

Why did the squirrel climb the tree? To get as high as it could. The feast of Saint David is held on March 1st every year in Wales and other parts. The patron Saint of Wales, St. David passed away on that date in the year 589 AD. 1,387 years later, during a violent thunderstorm along the Pembrokeshire cliffs, I took my first breath. This year, I am unable to return to Welsh village of my youth to celebrate St. David’s Day festivities. I will miss those Welsh Cakes, but I am eager to visit the finest bakery west of the Connecticut River, Barnaby Scones.

It is great sadness to announce that my finest mare, Horse Code passed away. We honored her memory & transitioned her barn into a pottery studio & metal forge. I spent the majority of this winter making horse-sized pots & pot sized horses to sell during the outdoor vendor season.

March is sweeter than taffy but I prefer more of a demi glaze. Grady Powell, “You only get one chance to write your own story, make it one worth reading.”
