One of the most frequent questions I am asked as a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist is: “What exercise video or online programs do you recommend I do to get in shape after giving birth?” Many new parents are eager to get back to their pre-pregnancy state and streaming a video may be the quickest and most convenient way for some to begin their daily exercise routine.

There are numerous factors that contribute to the variety of diagnoses that a pelvic floor physical therapist evaluates and treats. Let’s address one piece of the puzzle to explain just some of the considerations to be made when teasing out the source pelvic floor dysfunction. The pelvic floor requires balanced integration of your abs, gluteals, and back muscles, as well as upright posture and balanced walking.
