Getting Your Vehicle Ready for Spring:
Tires: It’s critical to swap out snow tires before the warm weather sets in. Otherwise, the special rubber compound that makes winter tires flexible in freezing temperatures will wear out in the warmer weather.
Fluids: Make sure all fluids are at the correct levels. As spring approaches and temperatures fluctuate, fluid leaks can develop. Cooling system components, often made of plastic, can weaken and crack. Inspecting all fluid levels ensures leaks don’t go unnoticed.
Battery: A good battery keeps you from getting stranded. Ensure connections are tight and free of corrosion. Testing is the only way to know the battery’s condition.
Brakes: Winter months can damage brake components, leading to stuck calipers, warped rotors, and corroded hardware. Maintaining your brakes ensures they’ll be there when you need them.
Belts: Cracked and brittle belts are a breakdown waiting to happen. Belt failures often damage other components, so check and replace them if necessary.
Wipers: Worn or torn wiper blades can damage the windshield. A fresh set of blades offers the best performance.
