Caring for Your Loved Ones: Learn About the Kind Hands Adult Social Day Program
By Liz Davila
Kind Hands Adult Social Day Program is a non-profit organization located in a residential home in Longmeadow designed to provide a comfortable and home-like environment for its guests.
Our non-clinical, social program has been thoughtfully designed to offer a safe social and secure setting, in a private home, for individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other related cognitive impairments. We have warm, caring, dementia-trained caregivers who provide a purposeful and fulfilling day incorporating lifestyle and social activities, a family-style meal and snacks, and most importantly, a warm environment filled with positivity and special attention.
Our residential home is equipped to provide specialized care and programs tailored to the unique needs of our participants on a social level. Our goal is to create an inviting environment that will allow our guests to feel connected and supported, giving them a sense of being with family and friends, rather than being in an institutional setting. We also want to provide much-needed respite support for the primary caregivers of our participants so that they can do the things they need to do without worrying about their loved one’s safety.
Services and programs include:
Exercise and Gardening, Music, and Art
Cognitive & Interactive Therapies
Nutritious Meals (lunch and snacks)
Cueing for Continence Care
Medication Reminders (if applicable)
Recreational and Social Activities designed for individuals with Alzheimer’s and Dementia
Outings/Participate in Local Senior Centers and Events
Transportation (when available)
We operate Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm allowing family members to manage their daily responsibilities while ensuring their loved ones are in a safe and stimulating setting.
