Notes From a Bra Fitter

Notes from a Bra Fitter

Why is it so hard to find a bra that fits well and feels good? I'm sure you've seen the statistic that over 80% of women are wearing the wrong size bra. This isn't so surprising when considering the huge diversity of human bodies and our confusingly inconsistent bra sizing systems.

Everyone deserves to feel amazing in their undergarments and in their bodies. If you are suffering in bad bras it's time for some uplifting self-care. The right foundation looks better, feels better, and instills confidence. Bras shouldn't hurt! With the right fit your neck, shoulders, back, and wardrobe will thank you. But facing down racks and racks of different sizes and styles can be daunting. Trying on dozens of styles that don't work is discouraging and can have negative consequences for our self-esteem. No wonder so many put off this particular shopping trip.

Does getting expert help in the bra department sound even more daunting than going it alone? It shouldn't.

HERE'S WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A PROFESSIONAL FITTING - To be greeted and welcomed by someone who truly wants to help you. To have your preferences and concerns heard. To be treated with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Bra fitters know that people have different comfort levels with the process, and our goal is to put you at ease. We know that everybody and every body is different and beautiful and we strive to create a positive, inclusive environment.

Usually, the first bra you try will have an underwire which allows us to best assess size and fit. Sometimes we’ll have you try the size that you usually wear or think that you are. Sometimes the fitter will start with the size that she thinks you are!

Your fitter is available to help you put the bra on and adjust hooks and straps if necessary. Once everything is in place we analyze the fit of the band, underwire, and cups. Using your input on how it feels we’ll adjust the size if necessary. If you are uncomfortable being viewed wearing just a bra, we are happy to provide a thin shirt for modesty.

Once we determine your size, we’ll bring a selection of bras and find the style best suited to your one-of-a-kind body. The only thing you need to bring to the experience is an open mind and willingness to let go of any self-judgment and negative self-talk.

Having an experienced pro to guide you is the quickest, easiest path to bra happiness. The professional bra fitters at Gazebo Too hear the following two comments over and over. "Why didn't I do this sooner" and "This experience was life-changing". Many first-timers tell us that they were reluctant to come in but ended up having fun! The body that you are in right at this very moment deserves to be honored and celebrated.
