Love is still in the air

Micro-weddings, dash weddings, mini-gatherings, intimate events, elopements, or whatever trendy name one can think of, are getting to be the new normal. With the ever-changing rules and regulations from the state, it is hard to imagine when we’ll be attending a wedding with 200 guests.

This year, florists and other wedding & event professionals have had to pivot to become not only Covid compliant, but able to provide a couple with the wedding of their dreams.

Fall is usually the peak season for a wedding florist. October and September is now what used to be the May and June of wedding season. Not surprising that with the cooler air there are no mayflies and of course if you are a New Englander, the changing of the leaves makes for a stunning magical backdrop for any wedding photo.

Floral Affairs has experienced couples either postponing their event until next year or embracing a smaller, more intimate gathering. For those who choose to host a smaller event, we are finding that couples are truly embracing why they are get married and can focus on what matters most. Whether that is the gown, the photographer, the cake, the flowers, or standing up and committing a lifetime of love to each other, no matter what it is, many wedding professionals in the area are eager to work and ready to do everything they can to make the day perfect.

A couple of must-knows: Be patient; wedding pros have been hit hard and are more than likely working with a skeleton crew. Be flexible; the product you ordered may not be available due to shipping issues. Be understanding; your vendors are having to work with the rules made by the state (they want to give you everything you want, but they may not be allowed to.) If you decide to reschedule your date to next year, book it soon, 2021 looks to be booking up quickly.
